Farm produce includes wine, bottled or in demijohns, extra-virgin olive oil, grappa olives in brine, jams and honey.
Authentic lucchese snacks and meals are available on request and are served in a traditional 'cantinetta'.
Watching the timeless agricultural activities that take place at the appointed season is a relaxing pastime. Grapes and olives being harvested, scented herbs being dried on their racks, and the gravitas of the enormous oak barrels in the celIars. The estate produces 5 wines and tastings can be arranged at any time.
The two spacious bedroom have en-suite bathrooms and panoramic views. They both had a double bed and a single bed.
Large glazed doors lead directly from the sitting room and bedroom onto a sunny terrace.
Rightly known as a treasure of Tuscany, Lucca is the birthplace of Puccini and opera continues to play an important role in the cultural activities of the town. Those with an interest in history and architecture will appreciate Lucca's Medieval and Renaissance sights that include centuries-old walls, cathedral, Roman amphitheatre, palaces and squares. Connoisseurs of designer shopping and fine food will also consider Lucca to be a 'find'.

"VILLA IN LUCCA" is an association that was formed in 1992 to protect the private villa estates or 'fattoria' that surround the historic town of Lucca. Once owned by the rich merchants of this beautiful walled city, these estates seemed doomed to slow decay. By creating economic viability through farming and the sale of high quality farm products, including wines and the world renown Lucchesia olive oil, the time honoured role of the Lucca Villa has been rescued. Most importantly, a culture of hospitality is a common denominator of all the association's members
The Estate
The working farm estate of Villa Maionchi is a prime example of "Villa in Lucca" in action. One of the owners of the 'fattoria' lives in the main farm buildings, and as guests, you will enjoy both rest and recreation in a vintage Tuscany setting.
The Mill apartments
The old estate mill has been renovated to provide two holiday apartments. About 200 metres from the main farm buildings, they are set in a panoramic position and share a swimming pool (9.4m x 4.6m).
The 1st Apartment - La Salvie - Sleeps 4 to 6
The sitting room has an open fireplace and you can tell that this building was once an old mill when you walk into the kitchen.. you can see the water that once drove the mill wheel flowing under the floor! 
2nd Apartment - Alla Curva del Topo - Sleeps 2
Consisting of a sitting room, kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom, this apartment in the renovated mill buildings also offers panoramic views.
The Area
Tuscany is famous for the natural beauty of its hills, mountains and scenic coast. For its historic villages and towns. And, for the warmth of its hospitality. The heritage sites of Florence and Pisa are close by provide a wonderful service by attracting tourists who visit year-round, while those 'in the know' return time and again to explore, shop and relax in the walled town of Lucca. 
Activities and entertainment
In addition to the pool, activities available at the estate include table tennis and, mountain bikes can be made available. Walkers will find the Tuscany countryside and mountains a delight to explore, with the exercise enhancing the enjoyment of the many fine restaurants that can be found along the way.
Horse riding and tennis courts are 4 km away. The estate is approximately 30 km from the nearest beach.
