The air conditioned villa with pool is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which offer a tranquil setting for al fresco dining, lounging or reflective wanderings in the shade of its mature trees and borders.
The Villa
The walled town of Lucca has been described as a jewel in Tuscany. Mid 17th century merchants endowed the surrounding countryside with more than 400 villa 'palaces' which they used as summer residences. Many are now open to the public. Villa La Chiusa was itself once part of a vast estate. Art lovers will appreciate the sensitive restoration that reflects the elegance of its terracotta tiled floors and frescoed rooms. Antique furniture and rich upholstery is set-off by the owners lucchesi silk fabrics, which she continues to make in the traditional manner.
The welcome dinner that is prepared by professional Chef Alberto is a delight that many guests choose to enjoy throughout their stay. The elegantly decorated and furnished dining room provides a perfect setting for the delights that Chef Alberto creates, using local Tuscan delicacies and of course the world-renowned Lucchesia olive oil. Afterwards, retire to the sitting room, where budding pianists could be tempted to entertain on the grand piano!
Luxury Accommodation
The large sitting room is on the ground floor, together with the dining room and TV room equipped with satellite. The large country kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, gas cooker and a microwave. Upstairs is a large salon and sitting room. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spread over both the ground and first floor.
The sleeping accommodation downstairs provides 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 twin-bedded room with en-suite. Upstairs are 3 double bedrooms, 2 with en-suite, 1 twin bedded room and 1 bathroom.
The Grounds
Seclusion from the outside world... should you wish any seclusion from the beauty of the Lucca area!... is provided by the large walled Italian garden, full of flowers, fruit trees and old lemon pots.
The swimming pool is a recently addition that can be enjoyed at any time of day.
The Area
The Pizzeria-Trattoria is just 500m away, and resist the temptation of the excellent ice cream from "Angelino" if you can! For those who enjoy the fine goods from Gucci, Prada and Pratesi, major outlets are nearby. The many cafe's, bars and restaurants can revive the weary shopper.
For those who prefer their medieval and Renaissance architecture to designer labels, Lucca can offer similar treats with its centuries-old walls, cathedral, Roman amphitheatre, palaces and squares.
The Puccini Opera Festival, in the open air theatre on Puccini lake, celebrates Lucca as the birth place of this famous composer.
Lucca is 30kms from the beach. Pisa airport is 30 minutes drive, and Florence airport 1 hour.

Price ranges from 3900 to 5800 euros per week (depending on size of group). The quoted price will include the welcome dinner. Chef Alberto will provide further meals on request and for a fee.|
